A colorful, expressive painting of a woman with long, wavy hair making a rude gesture. She has big, expressive eyes and her mouth is open, showing her teeth. She is holding up her middle finger close to her face.

Art to be felt as much as it is seen

Cambridgeshire-born artist Voirrey Taylor invites you to explore a body of work in which bold colours and expressive form lay bare the human experience.

About the Art

My work sits somewhere between representation and abstraction, led by instinct and driven by colour.

I paint slowly but intuitively, allowing marks to build, disrupt, and reshape the image as it develops. There is no fixed plan - only a response to what feels right in the moment.

Bold colour and expressive form are at the centre of my practice, used not just to construct an image, but to communicate an energy and emotion.

Each pieces becomes a balance of calm and chaos, where the final work holds both structure and freedom - something instinctive, alive and most importantly, human.
